BALANCED ROCK SCULPTURE WORKSHOP
WITH STUDENTS OF THE ATHENIAN SCHOOL

This group of 50 eighth-graders arrived full of energy after a half-hour bus ride from The Athenian School in Danville. After a brief introduction to the physics and aesthetics of rock balancing, I helped them create balanced rock sculpture using chunks of basalt from the breakwater at the Berkeley Marina.
