The Create-With-Nature Pathway is an ongoing participatory public art project with a purpose: running over 150 yards through a redwood grove, the pathway borders are designated spaces for the public to make ephemeral creations using sticks, redwood needles, pine cones, and more. The border edges, made from large tree limbs, in turn serve to protect and bring attention to the ongoing effort to restore the vegetation under the redwoods with indigenous ferns and other native plants. The current pathway was largely built during four free community events in 2013 and 2016, and now it's time to upgrade and repair the pathway, and continue the restoration work.

We'll start the day by working on the Pathway borders, repairing existing sections, and doing restoration work. After a picnic break (bring your own), we'll make ephemeral art creations collaboratively within the Pathway. Musical collaboration from multi-instrumentalist Laura Inserra will enrich the experience.

See this gallery of pathway photos, including photos from past events.

Limited to 30 participants - REGISTRATION REQUIRED. To REGISTER, click here. All ages are welcome, but be aware that some of us will be lifting logs and using tools during our building time.

Your hosts: Park Supervisor Justin Neville, Park Ranger Pamela Beitz, environmental artist Zach Pine, and multi-instrumentalist Laura Inserra.
Location: the Create-With-Nature Pathway, through the Redwood Gate of Redwood Regional Park, as shown on this map. Free parking for this event.
