FROM ART TO ACTION ON BERKELEY CREEKS - MID-REACHES SITE

In partnership with Friends of Five Creeks and River of Words
Berkeley, CA; May 26, 2006

Children being homeschooled and two local seniors who have lived nearby gathered at the mid-reaches of Codornices Creek in Berkeley's Live Oak Park. Friends of Five Creeks President Susan Schwartz and River of Words Executive Director Pamela Michael introduced us to the ecological and historical features of the site, then we fanned out to explore the creek and make art inspired by our discoveries.

The creek runs under redwood trees and oaks, between ivy-covered banks. This map shows our site in North Berkeley.
